I have just reached the end of my journalism course, and what an achievement!

Anyone who is looking to develop a hobby or find a new direction should consider taking a course with CMP.

The student sets the pace and your tutor will provide you with lots of helpful advice and interesting, relevant content.

There is no pressure to get work in on time and you can take a course alongside working or writing.

The very first piece of advice given to me was to start a blog about my specialist subject (food), which I did while taking the course.

I have since gone on to receive blog award nominations, as well as having the confidence to pitch to a magazine that led to my recipe being published alongside a feature.

Taking the course has given me additional credibility, and it has helped me to demonstrate that I intend to take food writing, as a career, seriously.

I have learned how to construct better reviews, features, and articles, as well as interviewing, the law relating to journalism, and more.

This is no longer just a hobby. It has led to many new opportunities.

Gaining my certificate has not only enhanced my ability to pitch for work, but it has given me more confidence on a personal level, too.
