A distance learning course studentI was always interested in grammar, proofreading, editing, language in general. During my university time I studied some proofreading for Romanian language (as I am Romanian) and I enjoyed it much. I had always inclination towards words and some years ago I started on a proofreading and editing project for a book in India. As I was working on it I started intuitively to develop my own style guide (though I did not know what it was one) and some doubts and queries arose. I wanted, therefore, to get a clear view and gain the necessary knowledge in this field.

I have seen many graduates said the course exceeded their expectations and I must say: mine too, especially that I have never before been enrolled in an online course. It has been so well structured, the information was complete, the tools provided were of great help and I loved the fact that practice complemented the theory.

Julian, my tutor, was a great support: always prompt, professional, his feedback on point and his skills laudable. The course covered all the information one needs for successful proofreading and editing.

I learnt what a style guide is. The difference between proofreading and editing and the fine line that stands between them. How to proofread on paper and the respective symbols. How to use tools like Track Changes and Adobe Reader® comment techniques. About academic editing and legal checks.
