Heather Turner: proofreading and editing course

I’ve had a keen interest in this area for many years and often need to proofread and edit documents and online careers pages as part of my work in the HR Resourcing & Talent space. I wanted to achieve a professional certification in order to develop my skills further.

The course was very comprehensive and covered a great deal, exceeding my expectations.

My tutor Rachel Finnegan was extremely supportive, always responding quickly to my queries, and always offering honest feedback with encouraging, helpful and constructive feedback.

The course content was comprehensive, concise and easy to follow without being overwhelming.

I learnt a lot from the course! In addition to key areas such as proofreading using Word and Adobe, it covered areas such as copyright, trademark and libel law that I hadn’t previously thought about in terms of editing or proofreading but which were extremely useful, and which I will be able to take forward when creating online and offline content for employer branding purposes.

I think the course is great as it is, covering all relevant areas comprehensively and equipping students with the skills and knowledge they need to develop a career.
