The course was fantastic. It gave me a thorough grounding in the different types of writing that a copywriter might experience. The lessons were clear and helpful, the assignments were realistic and useful, and the tutor support helped me to build my skills and confidence throughout.
My tutor was Lucy van Biljon and I cannot praise her highly enough. I completely trusted her expert judgement, and her feedback was always supportive and astute. Her emails were always professional yet friendly and I felt we had a tutor/pupil bond even though we have never met. She has given me the belief that I could make a career out of writing and has made the experience of gaining my diploma a pleasure.
I thought the course content was varied and balanced, and reflected the expectations and challenges that copywriters would face in their work. There was a useful mixture of extended writing tasks and research, as well as understanding legislation.
The lessons taught me about a range of text types, some of which I was previously unaware of. It made clear the different style, tone and structure each of these text types would require and gave me the opportunity to develop my skill in each one.
I found the course to be broad, informative, and well planned and resourced. It was exactly what I was looking for. It has broadened my horizons and has motivated me to begin developing a new career.
