I wanted to ensure I had value added transferable skills. Having written and edited website content for friends I knew that I really enjoyed this. I hope to use these new certifications as a springboard for the next stage of my career.
I signed up to the proofreading and editing course and the copywriting course to work them simultaneously, having gone part time in my current job to facilitate studying and looking to start up a small company.
I have been exceptionally impressed with the proofreading and editing course. The sequence of learning made sense and built new skills logically.
I found the course challenging, even with a lot of experience. Professional proofreading and editing was a big jump! I really enjoyed the challenge of the course, the feedback and support, and most of all completed the course feeling ready to continue learning, enthused and ready to apply what I had learned.
I cannot fault my tutor and the clear time and investment ensuring I had personalised feedback. Assignments were marked in a detailed way, and written feedback was always insightful and offered ‘next steps’.
Logically sequenced lessons, detailed learning material and assignments that allowed me to show what I had learned. I genuinely looked forward to each new module and completing the reading, notes, and assignments.
Proofreading and editing in the professional world is absolutely something I would love to move forwards with. The attention to detail needed and layers of checking and proofing have made me a better reader and writer. Which I have already seen in practice on my own website, blogs and current job in education.
The course has given me the confidence to move from education into the professional world. It was brilliant.
