How to make dull subjects interesting

Students on our home study courses learn an important skill: how to make dull subjects interesting.

Mastering this often increases the chances of getting articles published.

So how do you do it? Photos and images can help brighten up the presentation. But they are of limited use if the content is boring.

These two methods usually work:

  1. Quote someone. Quotes help to break up less interesting copy. They introduce another ‘voice’, and add the human element. They also give the reader something concrete to latch onto and empathise with.
  2. Use a human example. Tell someone’s story, or provide a case study or a testimonial. Stories can make the most boring subjects interesting.
