Elle | Chat | TV Times | The Express | Liberate Media
I am a tutor on CMP’s copywriting course, and its lifestyle and magazine journalism courses.
I have worked both for myself and for other people. As a professional copywriter, I have experience in running integrated campaigns combining PR, social media and developing content.
I am a copywriting and PR consultant for Liberate Media, and run client-based services incorporating social media, blogging and copywriting.
I have B2B experience and deliver content across a range of social media platforms. I also have experience with B2C development across a broad base of clients.
I am also an entertainment, health and travel journalist and editor with over 20 years’ experience.
I also regularly work for the Express’ Saturday magazine, as well as their weekend travel section, writing both features and celebrity Q and As. I contribute Life As I Know It Q and As to S Magazine.
I began my career as a researcher on Elle before working my way up through teen magazines such as Just 17, and women’s magazines such as Chat and Women’s Weekly, before ending up as features editor on TV Times.
From there, via a brief stint of freelance work again, I worked as the senior editor on The Express’ Saturday magazine.
I’ve interviewed the likes of Take That, shaken Bruce Willis’ hand, and sat next to Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox on the LA set of Friends.
I’ve still yet to find a better job than this one. Whether I’m talking to David Coulthard about F1, or Jerry Springer about his travel plans, there is nothing better than pulling a story together from a 20-minute chat.
My love of entertainment, whether it’s TV, music, books or films has afforded me an enjoyable, sometimes unpredictable but never dull career.
I am a member of the National Union of Journalists (NUJ).
