One of our blogging course students asked us how we judge whether a blog is successful or not? By getting followers, responders, and ‘likes’. Nothing else matters – unless you publish it for personal enjoyment of course.
Blogging is very transparent: if people like it, they’ll engage with it. If they don’t, they won’t.
Interaction is more important than ‘getting everything right’.
I’ve seen ‘great’ blogs: they’re clean, professional, and good to read. But no-one interacts with them. Which is a bit like having a beautiful book on a shelf and nobody ever opening it.
