Our proofreading course students are sometimes daunted by the amount of terminology involved in editing and proofreading.

Graduates from our proofreading course may need to be familiar with terms used in the publishing, editing and journalism industries.

Our online proofreading course includes a test, which is quite challenging. But the answers are all contained within online glossaries, with links to them from the teaching materials.

You don’t need to learn all the terms to pass, or even when you start doing proofreading work – there are too many.

But it’s best to bookmark the glossaries, and use them as often as possible as your career develops. You will gradually absorb them and become familiar with them until they become part of your vocabulary.
