So you’ve completed our proofreading course. You’ve got an amazing range of skills, job history, and experiences.

But this cuts both ways, as our online proofreading course graduates will tell you.

The upside is you have a lot to offer, and that’s a big advantage in a digital proofreading and editing world where multiskilling is important. Freelancers must be willing/able to turn their hands to anything.

But the downside is that you may come across as unfocused. Employers may feel you’re not really sure what you are!

So we tell our proofreading course learners to focus on one sector. That doesn’t mean they scrap their other interests. They just set some of them aside in their personal branding and internet profile.

They can then mention that they have other, specialist skills if they need to with a particular job or work application.
