We encourage our proofreading course learners to have a career blog. It’s useful to have all of your professional life in one place, so potential employers can find out about you quickly and easily.

They can make a big difference when you apply for jobs.

Our online proofreading course learners sometimes ask us what to include.

It’s best to have the following pages:

Home page

Introduce yourself briefly, and have a news feed showing examples of your latest work, and a list of your clients.
About me: create a personal profile with photos, and a link to your online CV. Add testimonials if possible, and mention any professional organisations you belong to.

Your work

Provide links or uploaded PDF files of your best work, preferably hyperlinked to the original websites.

Blog

Use your blog feed to show your potential new employees that you are writing regularly, and to a high standard.

Contact

All your contact details, including phone numbers, email address and social media handles.

This is the best example from one of our former students – he is a working journalist, but based his career blog on our suggestions: www.bernardchyzy.co.uk

Our partners, Digital Creative Hub can provide inexpensive, high quality career blogs for our students. They even offer all CMP students a 20% discount on all of their services. Check out their website
